DEVASTATING FIRE AT GLYN Y WEDDW ARMS, LLANBEDROG

A devastating fire broke out at LLanbedrog's pub, Glyn y Weddw Arms throughout last night.

There has been no injuries or harm caused to anybody at the pub and our pub partner, Martin, and his team, are all safe and the fire did not enter into the private living accommodation.

William Robinson, Managing Director of Pubs at Robinsons said

“It’s devastating to see the results of the fire. Importantly nobody has been hurt. We have our team of people on site working to assess the damage and provide support to Martin, our Pub Partner. I’ll be meeting with Martin personally tomorrow too. We’re very sorry to see the pub which Martin has been successfully running for the past 25 years closed. At this stage we don’t know the full extent of the damage, but we’ll be working closely with insurers and teams to get a plan in place to refurbish and reopen the pub. I’d like to extend my thanks to the fire crew who both attended the fire and worked to extinguish the flames”.

Various members of the Robinsons team have been onsite today and in contact with Martin to offer support and assess damages. William Robinson will be meeting with Martin at the Glyn y Weddw Arms on Saturday morning.

Martin Cook has been working with Robinsons as a pub partner for over 25 years and has been training his son within the business too. a local Facebook group commented on the fire saying "Our deepest sympathy goes out to Martin Cook and the rest of the Team at The Glyn y Weddw pub. This has been an icon in the village throughout its life and tenants".

Robinsons and Martin Cook will be working together with insurers to fully understand the cause of the fire and the full impact of the damage, before starting restoration works to bring the pub back to life.
