The popular Yorkshire country pub, the Woodman Inn, has re-opened following a full interior refurbishment. This improvement to the well-loved pub - just outside of Huddersfield, is the second investment the pub has seen in two years, benefitting from a new wedding and function space last year.

This recent refurbishment has seen the pub space updated into a refreshed warm and cosy pub and the wedding ceremony room revived. Due to the popularity of the pub, the design scheme focused on creating more space for both drinkers with a dedicated bar area downstairs and creating an inviting dining space upstairs featuring new booth seating, perfect for small groups. The upstairs of the building still features its function room which has been improved to create a greater versality for events. Downstairs, the bar has been relocated to open the downstairs of the pub and enable a new informal space for socialising and drinking.

During the refurbishment of the downstairs space the team exposed a gorgeous natural stone wall behind some plaster and chose to bring this as a focal point of the pub. Keeping with the country farmhouse style, new stone flooring has been added to the pub, alongside a colour palette of greens, neutrals and warm tones. The pub is filled with plenty of nods to the landscape too with local artwork of the area’s heritage and landscape.

If you’re tempted by a visit to The Woodman, the inn has 19 guest bedrooms and serves a great breakfast the next day too. If you’re closer by, stop in for lunch or dinner – we recommend booking ahead at key times. Check out their menu here.
