It is an early 19th century coaching inn set on the edge of Stockport’s historic Market Place - has received many CAMRA accolades for the quality and choice of their cask beers and has also won both regional and national pub of the year awards. The Good Beer Guide describes the pub as “Grade II listed and warranting a visit for the building alone”. The Guide continues... "Note the fine bar, tiled lobby, grandfather clock & splendid snug”.
